Accessibility Statement

Justice Ready Inc.

Justice Ready is committed to making its website and software accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We design and maintain the platform with accessibility in mind and aim to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Accessibility is incorporated into the design and development of Justice Ready so that users can prepare and manage legal documents using a wide range of devices, assistive technologies, and interaction methods.

Accessibility Features

Keyboard Accessibility

All interactive elements within the application, including document builders, form fields, navigation controls, and buttons, can be accessed and operated using a keyboard. Visible focus indicators are used to identify the currently selected element.

Screen Reader Compatibility

The platform uses semantic HTML structure and appropriate heading hierarchy so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can correctly interpret page structure and content.

Accessible Forms and Document Builders

Inputs used in workflows such as affidavit preparation, motion record assembly, and notice of motion drafting include programmatically associated labels and instructions. Error messages and status updates are designed to be understandable by assistive technologies.

Accessible Dialogs and Modals

Dialog windows and modal components manage keyboard focus appropriately. Focus is contained within the dialog while open, the Escape key can be used to close dialogs, and focus is restored to the correct element when the dialog closes.

Readable Typography

Justice Ready uses the Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface, which was developed by the Braille Institute to improve readability for individuals with low vision. The typeface is designed to reduce character ambiguity and improve clarity at different sizes.

Color Contrast and Visual Clarity

Text and interface elements are designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA color contrast standards to ensure readability for users with low vision.

Zoom and Text Resizing

The interface remains usable when browser zoom is increased or when text size is enlarged. The application supports use at 200% zoom without loss of functionality.

Efficient Keyboard Navigation

Skip navigation links allow keyboard users to move directly to the main content of a page without navigating through repeated interface elements.

Ongoing Accessibility Improvements

Accessibility is considered throughout the development process. As new features and document workflows are added to Justice Ready, accessibility considerations are reviewed to help maintain compatibility with assistive technologies and accessible design practices.
